FAQs
How long does it take to you paint your works of art?
There is no hard and fast rule to this. Some paintings are created over the course of a few days, others over several weeks or longer. However, please note that oil paintings can take quite a long time to dry, and delivery is only recommended once the finished work is fully dry and protected with a near-invisible varnish. Drying time varies between paint brands, pigments and mediums, and is influenced by such things as painting techniques and the weather. If you’re hoping to acquire a custom-painted and framed oil painting, please allow three months minimum. All time frames can be discussed with Christine. If you want to purchase a custom work at shorter notice, contact Christine about alternative options.
What mediums do you use to create your artworks?
Most oil paintings are painted with Langridge Artist Colours by David Coles and team in Melbourne, Australia. Langridge makes artist’s materials of uncompromising quality, and the oil colours have been designed to reflect the intense colour and light of Australia. Christine also uses Wallace Seymour Fine Art Products, whose handmade oil colours contain antique pigments alongside native earths and the standard selection of modern manufactured artist's quality pigments. Varnishes are made by Gamblin Colors. Christine prefers to paint without solvents and instead uses Sennelier Green For Oil products, as well as recently incorporating Langridge’s Solvent 75, the lowest toxicity solvent available.

Do you sell your limited edition prints unframed?
No, all limited edition, hand-signed and numbered fine art prints are sold framed as they are collectable art pieces and worthy of considered, professional framing by a trusted framer.
Are your prices in Australian currency?
Yes, all items for sale are listed in Australian dollars.
Do the prices of your framed, limited edition prints include shipping?
Shipping is included in the cost of the print to any location within Australia. The limited-edition prints will be dispatched once printed, hand-signed, hand-numbered and framed. Please allow between 3–6 weeks for delivery of prints as they are printed and framed to order. There may be delays during busy periods and delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
Prints must be delivered to a physical address (not a PO Box) and must be signed-for on delivery, unless requested otherwise. If authority to leave is requested as a delivery option, you acknowledge that Christine Sharp will not be liable in any way for loss or damage to your delivery.
When your order has been shipped, you will be notified via email and your order can be tracked. Please contact Christine Sharp for any further information or questions about shipping prints.
Do the prices of your original paintings include shipping?
No, they don’t. The shipping price of original artworks depends upon the weight and size of the work, as well as the destination. Freight on artwork will be quoted upon enquiry and added to the cost of the work. Shipping will be invoiced separately, if the artwork is purchased through the online store without shipping. Artworks cannot be shipped to PO addresses, and must be signed for upon delivery unless otherwise requested. Please ensure you will be present to sign for your delivery. Christine Sharp will not be liable in any way for loss or damage to your delivery.
How long will it take to deliver my painting?
Delivery times within Australia vary depending on your location. Generally, original paintings will be shipped within five (5) business days of receiving payment, unless an unframed work is to be sent to the framer or we jointly arrange a different timeframe. Set delivery times cannot be guaranteed as there are too many variables. If you want to receive your delivery by a particular date, please contact Christine Sharp to discuss.
Do you ship internationally?
Shipping to other countries can be arranged. Please contact Christine prior to purchase as the shipping method and price will need to be calculated on a case-by-case basis depending upon the weight and size of the work, as well as the shipping location. Christine Sharp cannot be held financially responsible for any additional local customs, taxes and duties to your order. We are required by law to disclose the full value of the shipment contents and cannot alter this value. If an order is refused by a destination country, by no fault of our own, Christine Sharp holds no financial responsibility for any additional shipping expenses or costs incurred. The purchaser holds responsibility for the tracking of the shipment. Failure to collect your shipment from a designated outlet may result in your parcel being returned to Christine Sharp Studio + Stockroom, in which circumstance it is the financial responsibility of the purchaser to arrange shipping.
